John Lewis shopping has just got cheaper! John Lewis have lowered the prices of selected items in the categories technology, fashion, home and toys in response to a competitor’s event!

John Lewis are reducing prices across a range of products for just 1 day ONLY. John Lewis aren’t renowned for responding to other store’s promotions but times are getting harder by the day on the high street and even John Lewis aren’t immune to it. This is great new for us consumers and who knows, maybe one day it will get to the stage where we can actually haggle over the price!

Now John Lewis don’t drop their prices very often. They’ve kept with tradition and normally only have the standard summer and spring sales. So this really is a sign of the times. Let’s not forget that everything in John Lewis oozes quality so this is an opportunity to get quality for less.

So, what’s so special about John Lewis? Well, for the third year running, a Which? survey has voted John Lewis and Waitrose as Britain’s favourite retailers (23 January 2008). In fact, John Lewis has been voted the UK’s favourite retailer in a poll of over 6000 shoppers. The Consumer Satisfaction Index 2008, carried out by retail analysts Verdict Research, asked customers to rate retailers in terms of range, price, convenience, quality, service, ambience, facilities and layout.
