BRITISH DESIGNERS SALE FOR WOMEN AND MEN

42 YORK MANSIONS, PRINCE OF WALES DRIVE, LONDON SW11 4BP

Phone Number: 020 7627 2777

Known to be the original designer sale started in this country, and still laying claim to being the largest and best after 20 years in the business, the British Designers Sales are held five times a year for women and twice a year men at Chelsea Town Hall in central London. Chelsea Town Hall is a Grade 2 listed building on the Kings Road in the heart of the capital, and apart from a beautiful and spacious room in which to view the clothes, there is also a large, light, airy changing room where everyone has fun spending hours trying on clothes and making friends along the way. Most of the 80+ contemporary top name designers shown at each event are sold exclusively through British Designers Sale and make up the 60+ rails of clothes at each sale. Prices start at around £20 and sizes are mostly 8 to 14, although there are a few 16+ sizes. Alexander McQueen, Jenny Packham, Armani, Marithe and Francois Girbaud, Jane Norris leatherwear, 120% Linen, Cacharel and Huit, Juliet Dunn, Lotus, Sara Pacini, James Lakeland and Sonia Rykiel are among some of the regular contributors, selling one-off catwalk samples, ends-of-lines and samples, many of which are from their current if not future collections not yet in the shops. All prices must be half retail price or less and, in many cases, are up to 80% off the normal retail price. Due to the immense popularity of these sales, membership was introduced 10 years ago and has proved most successful, offering a non-threatening way to buy designer clothes.
