Seconds Out is situated in a large, timbered shop in the riverside village of Cookham-on-Thames and has been in operation since 1985. Voted the best dress agency in the Thames Valley and among the top 10 in the UK, they stock middle to upper range designer labels such as Gucci, Prada, Chanel, Versace, Armani, Louis Vuitton, Escada and Paul Smith. Stock includes daywear, special occasion and evening wear displayed in spacious surroundings. Also stocked is a selection of new current items from designers such as Rene Derhy, Bernshaw, Aftershock and Godske, and Seconds Out is also an outlet for excess shop stock, which they sell at significant discounts. All clothes are colour-coded for size, and range from size 8 to size 24. The hat collection is at its best during spring and summertime, with up to 100 designer hats in stock at any one time. Accessories also feature, with designer handbags and sunglasses, shoes and boots, new costume jewellery from Barbara Easton, and a full-colour range of pashminas from Nepal. Opening hours change seasonally, so please phone first. Friendly, knowledgeable and experienced staff are always on hand to help, and coffee is served all day.
