The Really Good Deal Fashion Sale takes place twice a year. Held at Ascot Racecourse, the summer sale, which always takes place on a Friday and Saturday in mid-May, features about 100 different companies; the winter sale, which is usually early/mid-October, features 120 different companies. The range of businesses taking part is firmly middle to upper middle end of the market, with well-known names like Marilyn Moore and Sandwich usually taking stands to sell their ends of lines and overstocks to the public at reduced prices. Almost anything you can think of is on sale here: coats, dresses, smart suits, wedding suits, evening wear, hats, shoes, boots, a variety of fabulous jewellery, stretch jeans, designer jeans, ties, men's shirts and sweaters, scarves, shawls, pashmina shawls, wraps, handbags, briefcases, gloves, wallets, swimwear, nightwear and there are usually one or two childrenswear companies and a very small menswear section. Tickets to the event cost £6 and are only available in advance.
